Forum: forums Subject: Video Derivatives Missing Audio

Hi there,
I recently uploaded a quicktime video, hoping to make use of the ogv/mp4 derivatives. Turns out, that although my quicktime has perfect audio when streaming from archive.org, the low bandwidth ogv and mp4 streams are completely missing audio. Any helpful info about this? Thanks, and the url for my upload is:

Any word on this? Should I try re-uploading original file?

our tools aren't happy with
the .mov container specifying the .aac audio channel

can you upload a slightly differnt format? you have it
with h264 video and AAC audio anyway,
so maybe you can output a quicktime-ish .m4v or .mp4
container and try that?

Thanks, Tracy. I'm trying a conversion to mp4, so I'll give er another go when that's done.

great!

and if you have "mplayer" or "vlc" (or less likely ffmpeg and "ffplay")
installed and that works for you, that's a sure sign we'll derive it fine
(since they all use the same codebase for A/V decoding)
